Development Director – METY Foundation
Position Overview
The METY Foundation is seeking an entrepreneurial, mission-driven Development Director to lead fundraising, donor relations, grant development, partnership cultivation, and strategic growth initiatives. The Development Director will help expand the Foundation’s reach, visibility, and long-term sustainability while supporting innovative educational initiatives focused on empowering students through self-assessment and independent learning.
About METY Foundation
The METY Foundation provides free educational resources designed to help students improve academic performance through self-assessment techniques and supporting AI technology. This is a cause to help children around the world receive better educations and better futures. The Foundation’s methodology has been successfully used by students in six countries across four continents and has been associated with average improvements of 1.5 to 2.5 letter grades. In Africa, we saw a class average of 97% in high school math, and in high school government, the lowest performing student using our method outperformed the highest performing student who didn’t. The first priority is to raise funding to expand our program throughout Africa.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies
• Identify and pursue grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
• Write grant proposals and donor communications
• Build relationships with donors and strategic partners
• Coordinate fundraising campaigns and outreach initiatives
• Support media and public relations efforts
• Track fundraising performance and donor engagement
• Represent the Foundation at meetings and events
Qualifications
• Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment
• Passion for education and social impact
Preferred Experience
• Experience in education or educational technology
• Familiarity with AI-driven or personalized learning systems
• Experience with donor databases and CRM systems
• Public speaking and presentation experience
Compensation
Since we are a new 501(C)3, this is a commission position. You get 10% of the money raised, up to $1million raised. Once revenue is consistent, compensation will shift to salary.
