Our local non-profit client seeks a Director of Development to spearhead fundraising initiatives, cultivate lasting donor relationships, and work closely with the leadership team to drive financial growth and organizational impact. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with exceptional communication skills, a proven track record in major gifts, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.
Director of Development Responsibilities
Lead and manage fundraising efforts, including handling of major gifts, grants, and corporate donations, to meet annual revenue goals.
Oversee and develop your team while directing strategies for annual, project-based, and capital fundraising initiatives.
Lead high-level donor events and attend performances to support fundraising and community engagement efforts.
Cultivate and expand relationships with donors/board members to enhance the organization’s visibility and financial support.
Collaborate with leaders on strategic planning, leadership development, and the recruitment of new board members.
Manage development budgets, grants, donor benefits, and cross-department collaboration to ensure streamlined operations and effective fundraising.
Director of Development Qualifications
At least 7 years of fundraising experience including development and supervision of a team.
Familiarity with Portland arts and culture; non-profit or related industry experience highly preferred.
Proven ability to manage fundraising events, engage high-net-worth donors, and secure major gifts.
Collaborative with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly.
