A global environmental NGO has exclusively engaged Cultivate to search for a Director of Development to join a newly created APAC team.

The team you will join is responsible for driving the strategic design, strategy, and support for various programs to strengthen the NGO’s ability to deliver results and increase capacity across the Asia Pacific while ensuring increased competitive advantage for large funding opportunities.

As the Director of Development, you are responsible for identifying and cultivating new donor prospects. You will serve as the primary developer, ensuring the development of a program portfolio attractive to donors. You will lead fundraising priorities and work closely with peers on designing and integrating programmatic and fundraising strategies for the region.

** Your responsibilities will include**:

– Designing a multi-year development strategy that includes fundraising goals, prospect mapping, and cultivation strategies.

– Serving as primary account lead for specified institutional and individual donors and developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing donors.

– Leading the completion of proposals, including writing and editing proposal submissions.

– Developing annual revenue projections based on the development of strategies and expected prospect-giving.

– Supporting country programs on account cultivation and management for specified donors.

– Conceptualising and managing special initiatives and events to attract new corporate and individual donors.

– Preparing detailed progress reports for donors.

– Identifying and cultivating relationships with high-potential individual donors, ensuring a personalized and

impactful

approach.

** Key skills and experience required**:

– A minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising or a related role with a demonstrated track record of successfully cultivating gifts from assigned prospects.

– Demonstrated ability to work with high-net-worth individuals to persuade them to support a charity financially.

– Highly familiar with etiquette, protocol, and cultural awareness of working in

diverse

markets in the Asia Pacific.

– Advanced writing, editing, and verbal

communication skills

.

– Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

– Proven team player with the ability to work across a global organisation.

** Other details**:

– The office follows a hybrid structure, working some days from the office and some remotely.

– Travel is approximately 10% and at times you will be required to work global hours to communicate with colleagues in other timezones.
