Role Description The Director of Constituent Services is a full-time, on-site role based in Bronx, NY, supporting an Assembly member’s district office. This position oversees and coordinates all constituent casework, including intake, tracking, and resolution of inquiries related to government services and local issues. The Director manages a team or workflows focused on responding to constituents by phone, email, and in person, ensuring timely, accurate, and respectful communication. The role includes developing outreach strategies, organizing community events, and maintaining relationships with local organizations, agencies, and advocacy groups. The Director also collaborates with legislative staff to identify community trends, inform policy priorities, and assist with budget and strategic planning initiatives that respond to district needs.

- Candidates should possess strong Constituent Services and Casework skills, including experience handling complex individual issues with discretion and empathy.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting and Strategic Planning skills to help shape district priorities, manage office resources, and support program development.
- Candidates should possess Legislative Relations skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with legislative staff, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Candidates should possess leadership and team management capabilities, including experience supervising staff or coordinating projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with office software, case management or CRM systems, and a comfort with public-facing work and community engagement.
- Candidates should possess a commitment to public service and familiarity with New York City or New York State government structures; relevant experience in government, community organizing, or nonprofit work is highly beneficial.
- Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
