Purpose: This pastor oversees ministries for children (birth-12th grade) and young adults (up to age 25). The role focuses on discipling youth in Christ, empowering parents to foster spiritual maturity, and building a young adult ministry to support continued faith growth and community during the transition to adulthood.
It requires a 40-hour workweek. In accordance with our church’s interpretation of the Bible, we are seeking male candidates for this pastoral role.
Qualifications:
Education:
College degree, preferably in Christian ministry, biblical studies, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years leading children and young adult ministries in a church.
Lifestyle:
Must align with biblical leadership standards (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 2 Timothy 4:1-5).
Theology:
Strong commitment to reformed theology (e.g., TULIP, 5 Solas) and expositional teaching.
Faith & Passion:
Must be a disciple of Jesus with a heart for serving God and supporting children, youth, and young adults in becoming worshippers of Jesus Christ.

• Enjoys building relationships and fostering ministry growth.
Essential Functions:
Administrate, manage, and enhance the Children’s Ministry (birth-12th grade).
Develop and administer Young Adults Ministry (up to age 25).
Goals:
Create a unified ministry plan (children, youth, and young adult) ensuring smooth transitions between age groups and integration into the broader congregation, aligned with church vision, mission, and values.
Provide a safe, nurturing environment for spiritual growth.
Responsibilities by Area:
Sunday School:
Oversee curriculum selection, volunteer recruitment and training, lesson participation, parent support, Child Protection Policy adherence, and budget management for classes (birth-6th grade, ~50 volunteers).
Wednesday Night CAF (Church as Family):
Manage curriculum for birth-6th grade and life groups for 7th-12th, foster intergenerational relationships, offer service opportunities, and develop youth leadership.
Youth Group:
Provide administrative support and oversight to the Youth Group Director (~8 volunteers).
Young Adults:
Build a new ministry program from scratch.
Special Events:
Lead events like Easter Jam, One-day Kids Camp, Trunks with Treats, Christmas services, and service projects (e.g., Operation Shoebox).
Church Leadership:
Offer pastoral care, attend staff meetings, and model effective leadership.
Working Relationships:
Reports to Senior Pastors, supervised by the Executive Minister (who conducts annual evaluations).
Oversees volunteers in children and young adult ministries.
Converge Church was formed due to a merger between Maranatha Christian Fellowship and Destiny Family Worship Center on September 23, 2018. Believing that God wanted His local Church to reflect the rich and vibrant diversity within the body of Christ as described in Revelations 7:9, “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,” Pastors George and Jonathan and their congregations decided to join both ministries together.
