BlueDot Coworking, a soon-to-launch nonprofit coworking and event space located in the historic Athens Armory, seeks a motivated Director to lead its day-to-day operations. This iconic Athens landmark, dormant for nearly 40 years, has been revitalized through extensive renovation funded by state and federal grants, and is ready to open later this year. Our mission is to foster a professional community, host engaging events, and build a vibrant hub connecting remote workers, local entrepreneurs, non-profits, and the arts.

Position Summary:

The Director will oversee all aspects of BlueDot’s daily operations, including managing the coworking space, coordinating events, marketing the venue, and ensuring the facility runs smoothly. This role reports directly to the BlueDot board and will involve managing both contractors and service providers. Success in this position will be incentivized through a revenue-sharing agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Athens Armory facility.

Recruit, support, and retain remote workers, small businesses, and nonprofits utilizing the coworking spaces, including private offices.

Market, book, and oversee the execution of events in our ~300-person capacity venue.

Lead and manage relationships with a small team of contractors and service providers to ensure successful event production and facility maintenance.

Oversee facility budget, revenue streams, and expenses, reporting regularly to the BlueDot board.

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and professional environment that supports community and economic development.

Ideal Candidate:

Passionate about cultivating a professional community, hosting meaningful events, and enhancing the local economy.

Strong background in event or venue management, facility operations, or coworking/community space management.

Excellent interpersonal, marketing, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Entrepreneurial mindset, with an ability to creatively solve problems and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

Experience managing venues, coworking spaces, or other facilities preferred.

Proven record of successful event management, marketing, and/or community-building.

Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and budget management experience.

Knowledge of Athens community and local networks is a desirable bonus.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.
