Eyota Kids Korner is a nonprofit childcare center rooted in Christian values, serving the Eyota community and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care that supports each child’s emotional, intellectual, and social growth through play-based learning. 

 

Position Overview: Director 

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Director to lead our center with passion and purpose. The Director will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with state regulations, manage staff, and foster a nurturing environment for children, families, and staff. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and collaborates closely with an Administrative Coordinator to ensure smooth operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership & Management: 

Supervise daily operations to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. 

Lead, mentor, and support staff; cultivate a culture of teamwork and respect. 

Oversee staff scheduling, development, and performance evaluations. 

Manage the center’s finances, records, and inventory. 

Compliance & Quality Assurance: 

Ensure adherence to all state licensing and health/safety regulations. 

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of early childhood licensing laws and requirements. 

Family & Community Engagement: 

Support child enrollment, classroom transitions, and family communications. 

Foster strong relationships with families, staff, the board, and the community. 

Assist with social media, advertising, and community outreach initiatives. 

Program Development: 

Implement and oversee play-based learning programs that support children’s development. 

Apply for grants and seek funding opportunities to enhance program offerings. 

 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience: 

High school diploma or equivalent. 

Minimum of 1,040 hours of paid staff supervision experience. 

At least 90 hours of accredited coursework in staff supervision, human relations, and child development. 

Preference for candidates with a Director Credential, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. 

Certifications (to be obtained within 30 days of hire): 

CPR/First Aid Certification. 

Child Transport Licensure. 

Food Service Certification. 

Skills & Abilities: 

Strong leadership and organizational skills. 

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 

Proficiency with QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and childcare management applications. 

Applicants must be able to pass and background check and be eligible to work in the United States.
