Job Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead and oversee the overall operations of our Christian NGO. This key leadership role will ensure the efficient management of programs, finances, human resources, and logistics, aligning all activities with the organization’s mission and values. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to implement strategic goals and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organizational Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement operational strategies to support the mission and vision of the organization.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment between ministry programs, administration, and financial sustainability.
Strengthen the organization’s operational framework to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Program Management & Development
Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all NGO programs, ensuring they align with Christian principles and meet community needs.
Monitor program impact and effectiveness through key performance indicators (KPIs) and regular reporting.
Support the development of new initiatives that expand the reach and influence of the NGO.
3. Financial & Resource Management
Work with the finance team to manage budgets, funding, and financial planning.
Ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting and stewardship of resources.
Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
4. Human Resources & Team Development
Provide leadership and support to staff, volunteers, and ministry teams.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and spiritual growth.
Develop training programs to equip team members for excellence in their roles.
5. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement policies that align with best practices in nonprofit management.
Identify and mitigate risks that could affect operations or program impact.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations
Build strong relationships with donors, partners, churches, and community leaders.
Represent the NGO in public events, church gatherings, and partner meetings.
Advocate for the mission and values of the organization to inspire engagement and support.
Qualifications:
A strong personal commitment to Christian faith and values.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Theology, or a related field.
At least 7-10 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, humanitarian, or faith-based organization.
Proven ability to manage teams, finances, and programs effectively.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of international development and humanitarian aid.
Experience in working with churches, mission organizations, or community development programs.
Familiarity with project management tools and nonprofit compliance standards.
