Starting Rates: $17 – $21, depending on experience.

The Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh is a place where people with and without disabilities share their gifts and their lives. We are a local, non-profit organization that provides community-homes, services, and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities in the Pittsburgh region. The Emmaus Community is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism to live and thrive in the community.

What will I do as a DSP?
As a DSP, you will provide person-centered support with daily living activities, medication administration, community participation, personal care, goal implementation, and recreational opportunities. This role involves building respectful relationships, supporting health and wellness, maintaining documentation and regulatory compliance, assisting with household responsibilities, and helping individuals achieve greater independence and quality of life. Teamwork, compassion, and a commitment to Emmaus Community’s mission are essential. Training at multiple locations is provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- GED/ HS Diploma or above
- Driver’s License
- Act 34 clearance & FBI clearance Physical w/ mantoux prior to date of hire
- Experience is helpful, but not required; training is provided
Benefits Rate Details:
If electing to use insurance provided by Emmaus, the following is the amount the employee is responsible to contribute per paycheck (26 pays per year). The employee contribution is based on the level of coverage that is elected for the medical plan. Dental and Vision insurance continue to be offered for all levels of coverage at no additional cost to the employee. Emmaus also covers 100% of the cost for all full time employees to have a $25,000 Life Insurance Policy, Short Term Disability Insurance and Long Term Disability Insurance.
