Essential Functions
Develop a plan to bring donors to Purdue Global through active use of the development process.
Assist in the design and implementation of a comprehensive Advancement program in consultation with the Assistant/Associate Vice Presidents for Development, Broad-Based Campaigns, Donor Experience Officers, Foundation Relations, Planned Giving, Engagement and PFLF Marketing and Communication.
Assist the Associate Vice Presidents for Development and Frontline Fundraising Team in securing major gifts aimed at meeting the strategic goals of Purdue Global and its leadership, programs, and disciplines, and the University.
Serve as the primary point of contact, for assigned centers, departments and other faculty/staff in coordinating fundraising efforts for these strategic initiatives.
Travel and/or evening and weekend duties are required.

Additional Responsibilities

Fundraising:
Ensure appropriate coordination with corporations, foundations, other business partners and other unit and University constituencies.
Assist in soliciting prospects for gifts in support of Purdue Global’s strategic plan and fundraising priorities.
Participate in receptions and other donor events.
Provide stewardship of gifts through the acknowledgment process, assisting with recognition events, dedications, and working with the Purdue for Life Foundation on appropriate recognition.
Become familiar with and understand key initiatives relating to faculty, students, instruction and research.
Planning/Administration:
Work with the Unit Development/Advancement staff, Deans, and Associate Vice President for Development to develop a fundraising plan, including strategies and a timeline for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donor prospects.
Ensure effective records maintenance, including timely filling of requests for prospect assignments, prospect strategies and contact reports, using the University’s constituent relationship management system.
Create various communications targeted for donors and prospects through collaboration with Broad Based Campaigns, Engagement and PFLF Marketing and Communications.
Continually improve professional competency through training and participation in and/or leadership in professional, organizational and other not-for profit organizations.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, including the demonstrated ability to communicate well in writing and speak before large groups.
Ability to interpret and articulate the mission of Purdue Global and Purdue University.
Must be able to interact with stakeholders from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy at all times required.
Sound judgment, initiative, and ability to collaborate effectively required.
Excellent relationship building, organizational and time management skills required.
Knowledge of finance, planned giving, alumni relations, corporate relations, and advancement communications preferred.
Ability to continuously improve professional competency through participation in professional education opportunities necessary.
Good computer skills necessary, proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM Technology.

Required Education/Experience and Benefits

Bachelor’s Degree required.
3-5 years relevant experience required.
Experience in higher education or other non-profit organizations a plus but not required.
Familiarity with the programs of Purdue Global is desired but not required.
