Position Summary
Reporting to the Director ofLeadershipGiving, the Development Officer will secure philanthropic gifts in support of Gettysburg College, managing the on-going identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of approximately 250 donor prospects in four key markets who have been identified as having the financial capacity to make a gift of $100,000 or more. This role will primarily work with alumni between their 10th and 25th reunions and will be asked to focus on the qualification and philanthropiceducationof these prospects in determining if major gift support of Gettysburg College is likely.
Gettysburg College offers hybrid or remote status for staff residing more than 60 miles from the Gettysburg campus. Staff working remotely must reside in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C.
Qualifications
Gettysburg College seeks a Development Officer with an understanding of fundraising theories including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gift planning andleadershipgift donors and prospects; exceptional oral and writtencommunication skills; and a high degree of motivation as well as an ability to motivate others. The Development Officer must be able to educate, qualify, cultivate, and steward donors successfully in-person and virtually in pursuit of philanthropic support and executeleadershipevents for major donors and senior administrative staff.
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination ofeducationand experience is required for this position as is at least two years of successful experience in frontline fundraising or relevant relationship management, such as admissions, alumni relations, sales, or corporate recruiting experience.
Thesalary rangefor this position is $65,000 to $70,000 annually.
