Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, the Development Officer will:

Qualify a portfolio of donors from a larger group of donors and prospective donors.

Create individual goals for each person in the portfolio based on the donor’s history of giving and the organization’s knowledge of that donor’s potential.

Create a plan for each donor that will serve as a personalized fundraising plan. Execute that plan on a timely basis to secure donations.

Develop and maintaincollaborative, supportive relationships with Deans, faculty, staff, and key volunteers to initiate, maintain and strengthen relationships with donors and donor prospects.

Participate in alumni and University activities that aim to draw the community closer to the University.

Collaborate within theAdvancementteam for gift administration, prospect research, donor communications, web stories, etc.

Keep abreast in the field of fund development through attendance at conferences and maintaining memberships and actively participating in professional organizations.

Experience andEducationRequirements

To be the successful Development Officer you will have:

Undergraduate degree or Certificate in Fundraising Management.

Demonstrated fundraising experience, with a minimum of two years of fundraising experience.

Strong organizational andanalytical skills.

Above average interpersonal, oral and writtencommunication skillswith strongattention to detail.

Demonstrated capability with the MS Office Suite of products and spreadsheets.

Ability to organize adiversearray of tasks in order to achieve outcomes in a timely fashion.

Experience working withClient RelationshipManagement software would be an asset.

Willingness to travel.
