Far Hills Country Day School, an independent Preschool through Grade 8 school located in Far Hills, New Jersey, seeks a qualified Development Office Assistant. Appropriate candidates will join a highly dedicated team of faculty and staff.
Summary:
This individual is a key member of the Development Team and supports the success of all development initiatives. They will focus on managing the databases, reporting in support of fundraising and donor engagement, and will assist with planning and executing events that foster the engagement of all constituents. The ideal candidate will work well with others, manage multiple projects simultaneously, enthusiastically participate in occasional after-hours development activities, and have strong interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage gift entry and acknowledgment process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of gifts and pledges.
Serve as a liaison between the Development and the Business Offices for accurate reconciliation.
Maintain an accurate constituent database; collect and update all constituent information in the database annually.
Perform ongoing and year-end reporting tasks, including constituent change-over and report generation.
Assist with activities related to donor recognition and cultivation, including events and stewardship.
Assist with the planning and execution of large fundraising events, including maintaining event records and project plans; track revenues and expenses.
Assist with the planning and execution of school-wide events.
Create and run database queries, lists, and exports to support solicitations and mailings.
Provide administrative support for the Development Office, including tracking stationary quantities.
Work closely with parent and community volunteers, colleagues, and coworkers.
Collaborate with vendors.
Promote a culture of philanthropy through collaboration with school employees and community members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with fundraising and constituent relationship management databases. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and Give Campus preferred.
Proficient use of Google Suites, Microsoft Office, and graphic design software.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a broad range of families, volunteers, alumni, faculty and staff, and the general public.
Commitment to high-quality work and ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
Approachable personality.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Environment: indoor office working with some outdoor events.
Physical demands: able to sit and stand for at least 8 hours per day; occasional after-hours, weekend, and/or weeknight obligations.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling.
Regularly climbing stairs.
