Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Development Manager to support our fundraising efforts with a primary focus on grant writing, donor administration, and operational support. This role will work closely with the leadership team to implement fundraising strategies and ensure smooth operations of our development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Writing & Research

  • Research and identify foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities
  • Write compelling grant proposals, reports, and applications
  • Manage grant compliance, reporting requirements, and deadlines
  • Maintain grant calendar and tracking systems
  • Coordinate with program staff to gather data and impact stories for proposals

Administrative & Database Management

  • Maintain and optimize donor database to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Process and acknowledge donations in a timely manner
  • Generate donor reports, giving statements, and tax receipts
  • Support moves management system implementation and tracking
  • Assist with gift acceptance and recognition processes

Donor Relations Support

  • Support stewardship activities for individual donors and foundations
  • Assist in creating donor impact reports and communication materials
  • Help coordinate donor visits and engagement opportunities
  • Support planned giving and monthly giving program administration
  • Maintain donor files and correspondence records

Events & Communications Support

  • Provide logistical support for fundraising events and donor activities
  • Assist with event planning, coordination, and follow-up
  • Support creation of fundraising materials and case statements
  • Develop content that highlights student success stories
  • Contribute to annual report preparation and impact documentation

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or related field
  • Proven grant writing experience with successful funding outcomes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written communication and research abilities
  • Proficiency in donor management software (experience with databases preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in education or youth development sector is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
