Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Development Director to lead our fundraising and donor relations efforts. In this pivotal role, you will craft and execute comprehensive development strategies that align with our organization’s mission and growth objectives. Your leadership will drive innovative fundraising campaigns, cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and stakeholders, and oversee all aspects of donor engagement, ensuring sustainable financial support. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational financial goals
- Lead major gift solicitation efforts, including planned giving, estate planning, and donor cultivation activities
- Manage donor and alumni databases using CRM software to track engagement and donations
- Oversee event planning and management for fundraising events, donor appreciation gatherings, and community outreach initiatives
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including grant applications, reporting requirements, compliance, and stewardship to secure and maintain funding from foundations, corporations, and other nonprofit funding sources.
- Foster strong relationships with donors, volunteers, university partners, and community stakeholders through effective relationship management and public relations strategies
Requirements
- Proven experience in nonprofit management with a focus on fundraising, donor relations, or development leadership
- Strong skills in event planning, proposal writing, grant proposal development, and budgeting
- knowledge of CRM systems for database management and data collection
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for donor cultivation and public relations efforts
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools including social media management platforms, and email marketing campaigns
- Experience in research related to donor prospects, grant opportunities, and nonprofit industry trends
- Ability to negotiate effectively with partners and stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships
- Knowledge of Wills, trusts & estate law as it pertains to planned giving strategies is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a nonprofit environment

Pay: $62,050.88 – $70,727.94 per year
