The Children’s Dream Fund is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and expand our revenue streams. This role is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on children facing life-threatening illnesses by ensuring we have the resources to fulfill more dreams.

About the Role

The Development Director will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new funding sources to support the Children’s Dream Fund’s operating budget. This includes building relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and community partners while creating and executing innovative fundraising strategies. A strong background in sales, business development, or fundraising is essential, though nonprofit experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & New Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new revenue streams, including corporate partnerships, major gifts, and grant funding to support our mission.

Donor & Sponsor Engagement: Build and maintain meaningful relationships with high-capacity donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations, ensuring long-term engagement and impact.

Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement data-driven fundraising strategies, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive results and exceed revenue goals.

Corporate Partnerships: Initiate and lead outreach efforts to engage new corporate and community partners, securing first-time sponsorships and donations.

Board & Leadership Collaboration: Partner with board members to leverage their networks and uncover new funding opportunities.

Marketing & Donor Communication: Work with the team to develop strategies that attract online and workplace giving donors while increasing visibility.

Stewardship & Reporting: Responsible for building and maintaining strong donor relationships by leading thoughtful stewardship efforts, ensuring donors feel valued and connected to the impact of their giving. This includes personalized outreach, acknowledgments, and engagement strategies to foster long-term donor commitment and inspire continued support.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven leader with a strong background in sales, business development, or fundraising. You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, are comfortable working independently, and excel at building meaningful partnerships that drive revenue growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven success in sales, business development, or fundraising, with a track record of exceeding revenue goals.

Ability to develop and execute a high-impact fundraising strategy, managing multiple funding sources.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to persuasively present and pitch to donors, corporate partners, and community leaders.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a metrics-driven mindset focused on pipeline management and donor retention.

Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable navigating a dynamic, evolving nonprofit environment with a proactive, action-oriented approach.

Experience in nonprofit fundraising is a plus, but not required.
