PURPOSE

The Development Coordinator, under the direct supervision of the VP of Development, provides focused coordination and administrative support for NKFH’s fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts. This position plays a key role in donor engagement, event logistics, and external communications that advance the organization’s mission. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Development & Fundraising Support

·        Coordinate administrative support for fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.

·        Process gift acknowledgments and maintain accurate, timely donor thank-you letters and impact reports.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect records in the organization’s CRM/database.

·        Support event logistics for fundraising events, community activities, and donor engagement opportunities.

·        Track sponsorship fulfillment and benefits for corporate and community partners.

·        Prepare fundraising materials, reports, and presentations as directed by the Development Manager.

Marketing & Communications

·        Support the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns aligned with organizational goals.

·        Assist with content creation for digital channels, including email newsletters, website updates, and social media platforms.

·        Coordinate timelines and materials for fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and community outreach efforts.

·        Help ensure consistent branding and messaging across all external communications.

·        Collect stories, photos, and impact data to support fundraising appeals and donor communications.

Administrative Support

·        Provide administrative support to the Development team, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and file management.

·        Track timelines, deliverables, and project tasks across development and communications initiatives.

·        Collaborate with program staff to gather information and outcomes for fundraising and reporting purposes.

OTHER DUTIES

·        Support cross-departmental projects and organizational events as needed.

·        Perform related duties as assigned to advance NKFH’s mission and development goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

·        Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·        Minimum 2–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, communications, or administrative coordination.

·        Experience with donor databases/CRMs and email marketing platforms preferred.

·        Familiarity with social media management and digital communications preferred.

·        Knowledge of HawaiÊ»i communities and cultural sensitivity in communications preferred.

Skills and Abilities

·        Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning new database and digital tools.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

·        Collaborative, mission-driven mindset with strong professional ethics.

·        Passion for healthcare, public health, or community-based work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting and moving up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Frequent use of computers, phones, and office/event materials.

Environmental Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with regular attendance at offsite events and community venues. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or as directed by the Development Manager, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed for events and organizational activities.
