Job Overview

The Literacy Project is hiring a Development Assistant to join our team at our new Greenfield location at 377 Main Street. This is a 20-hour/week position, paying $24/hour plus applicable benefits. The position requires availability on Monday afternoons but otherwise has flexibility in work hours. This role focuses on data entry, communications teamwork, and office support. The Development Assistant uses established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to keep the donor database clean, manage communications directly through our CRM, and help run events. Core Responsibilities

● Keep donor records updated and organized in the Little Green Light (LGL) database. Fix duplicate profiles and strictly follow set SOPs to keep information consistent

● Keep thank-you letter and tax receipt templates current within LGL. Manage and send event invitations and regular donor letters directly out of the LGL system

● Pull and organize background information, relationship notes, and donor histories for the Executive Director to review before donor meetings

● Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to organize and assemble seasonal fundraising campaigns and physical letters

● Meet regularly with the Executive Director and input historical donor notes directly into secure database profiles

● Serve as the logistical point-person for organizational events by booking venues, managing caterers, tracking RSVPs, and running on-site check-in ● Work with the finance team to accurately log all donations and ensure personalized thank-you letters/tax receipts are generated and mailed within 48 hours

● Attend all mandatory agency meetings and professional development opportunities Requirements

● Experience in an office, data entry, administrative, or fundraising support role

● High comfort level using email, spreadsheets, document creation and formatting, and experience using a donor database or CRM (experience with Little Green Light is a plus but not required)

● Excellent communication skills and comfort level speaking with donors and other external constituents

● Exceptional organizational skills, ability to track multiple timelines, and strict adherence to donor privacy and confidentiality

● Meticulous attention to detail entering data

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to The Literacy Project’s mission and desire to support diverse, low-income, and marginalized communities. They should be enthusiastic about working in a highly collaborative team environment. Knowledge of the Adult Basic Education field and experience at a nonprofit are a plus but not required.
