The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking a Deputy Finance Director to manage the call time program and serve as a strategic asset to the FDP’s Finance Department. The Deputy will be responsible for owning the call time operation, raising funds to meet predetermined goals and metrics, managing donor relationships alongside the party Chair and other members of the Finance Department, and oversight and growth of the FDP’s digital program and donor database.

The Deputy Finance Director will maintain a close relationship with the Chair, staffing the Chair’s fundraising call time and overseeing the maintenance of the Chair’s calendar and scheduling. The Deputy Finance Director will also have an opportunity to partner with other FDP departments on projects and programs. The Deputy Finance Director will report directly to the Finance Director.

The Deputy Finance Director position requires a high level of trust and discretion. The right candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively, manage their time effectively, and maintain multiple ongoing projects while communicating regularly with leadership.

Responsibilities

Manage call time program, including researching prospects and preparing lists

Staff call time with the chair and provide reports to the Finance Director

Take meaningful notes during meetings and phone calls

Draft fundraising reports to track metrics and progress

Oversee FDP’s Digital Fundraising Program, including management of Digital Assistant

Strategize and implement growth models for digital fundraising and list acquisition

Support the Finance Director with planning and executing digital, regional, and large scale Fundraising events

Assist with managing chair’s meeting calendar and travel arrangements

Prepare event and meeting materials

Complete research on existing and prospective donors

Update contact lists in CRM and draft newsletters and updates to donors and activists

Support additional projects as needed

Qualification & Skills

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in political fundraising or nonprofit development

Digital fundraising and data management experience

Knowledge of NGP and/or Votebuilder a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite

Logistics, Salary and Benefits

Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable mode of transportation, and the ability to travel extensively at times throughout the state for extended periods.

The Deputy Finance Director position is remote within the State of Florida

The salary and benefits for this position are commensurate with experience with full medical and dental insurance paid for by the Party. The pay range is $70,000$75,000.
