Washington Metro Oasis (WMO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults through lifelong learning, meaningful volunteer opportunities, and social engagement. Our mission is to foster personal growth, build community, and promote active, engaged aging for older adults in the Washington, DC metro area.
Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Washington Metro Oasis is a dynamic and passionate leader who inspires staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders in creating a vibrant, inclusive environment for older adults to thrive. This individual will be responsible for the overall growth, sustainability, and strategic planning of the organization, ensuring that WMO continues to flourish in its mission to support healthy aging in alignment with Johns Hopkins Medicine’s National Capital Region health priorities.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the management and strategic integration of WMO within the National Capital Region (NCR), leading fundraising initiatives, cultivating sponsor ships, and securing other sources of funding and philanthropy. Additionally, the Director will forge strong relationships with community partners and supporters to enhance WMO’s reach and measurable impact for healthy aging and wellbeing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in business administration, nonprofit management, healthcare management, human relations, or a related field from an accredited four-year college; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a relevant field, with a proven record of accomplishment of developing partnerships and successfully fostering relationships within the aging services sectors.
Proven expertise in fundraising, including experience in securing and managing donations, grants, and other sources of funding.
Passion for and experience working with older adults in areas such as lifelong learning, health and wellness, and meaningful volunteer opportunities is highly desirable.
Strong skills in strategic planning, operational management, program development, and community engagement to support the mission and goals of the organization.
Salary Range:
Minimum $86,500 per year – Maximum $115,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
