Employee Type:Year-Round, full-time, 40 hours per week

Schedule:Monday through Friday, generally from 8am – 5pm

Pay:$31.81 – $33.40 based on experience

Reports to:High School Program Director

Location:Gateway High School and Washington High School, San Francisco (REQUIRES TRAVEL)

Job Summary:The Defining Success Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and leading affinity groups designed for Black and Latinx students at Washington High and Gateway High. These groups center on four core learning pillars—Personal Responsibility, Community,Communication, andCritical Thinking—to fosterpersonal growthand a sense of belonging among students. Reporting directly to the High School Director, the Coordinator collaborates with school administration to select students for the affinity groups and structures the groups by gender and race, with opportunities for joint sessions to encourage broader discussions.

In this role, the Coordinator will develop and implement a culturally relevant curriculum that sustains student engagement and createsimpactfullearning experiences. Additionally, the Coordinator supervises two Youth Program Associates (YPAs) who support the Defining Success program and work alongside the Coordinator to facilitate group sessions. The Coordinator also collaborates with SFUSD staff, student guardians, the high school team, and external service providers, ensuring that students have the necessary resources and support to meet their goals at both high schools.

Responsibilities:

DIRECT SERVICE (75%)

Plan and facilitate Black and Latinx affinity groups, ensuring alignment with the four core learning pillars:
Personal Responsibility, Community,Communication, andCritical Thinking.

Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with students to monitor their academic, personal, and social progress.

Connect students with appropriate resources and services to address their needs.

Facilitatecommunicationbetween affinity groups, creating opportunities for combined sessions that foster broader community building and cross-cultural understanding.

SUPERVISION (5%)

Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and support to Youth Program Assistants (YPAs) to ensure effective facilitation of affinity groups and alignment with program goals.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (10%)

Complete administrative tasks such as session notes, timesheets, attendance, and check requests in accordance with organization policies.

Ensure data is collected and entered into database system; program materials and supplies are adequate for program needs; and youth space is maintained.

Collect and analyze data on the effectiveness of the affinity groups, using feedback from students and other stakeholders to informcontinuous improvement.

COMMUNITY PARTNERING (10%)

Work with community organizations, school partners, and internal staff to providementorship opportunitiesfor students.

Maintaincommunicationbridges with other youth serving organizations that provide services for youth and families.
