The Creative Arts Director is a visionary leader responsible for shaping the artistic direction and choreographic identity of the organization. With a strong foundation in the performing arts and choreography, they conceptualize, develop, and oversee compelling productions, programs, and community initiatives. This role blends artistic leadership with organizational strategy, emphasizing movement-based storytelling, collaboration, and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities:
Artistic & Choreographic Vision: Lead the development of original choreographic works and oversee the movement aesthetic across all performances and programs.
Program Development: Design and curate dynamic seasons of dance, theater, and interdisciplinary performances that reflect the organization’s mission and values.
Choreography Leadership: Create, commission, or direct choreography for in-house productions and collaborations, ensuring artistic excellence and innovation.
Community Engagement: Develop accessible and inclusive programming that reflects diverse voices and fosters community participation through dance and movement.
Partnership Building: Collaborate with artists, schools, cultural institutions, and donors to expand the organization’s impact.
Production Oversight: Guide the rehearsal and production process from concept to performance, including casting, staging, and coordination with technical teams.
Budget & Resources: Manage budgets and resources related to choreography, productions, and creative programming.
