Job Purpose:
The
purpose
of this role is to support the overall clinical support needs of Youthline by helping to develop and manage its counselling service and to supervise and support the Helpline Care Officers (HCOs) / Volunteers to attend to difficult,
challenging
calls or crisis situations (if any). This is a very crucial and core role in strengthening the foundation of Youthline’s services.
This role also includes on-going training and enhancing the skills of the volunteers and ensuring the quality of calls and satisfactory experience of callers.
Role Overview:
Supervise (and assist in, when necessary) all aspects of the helpline operations when on a helpline shift to maintain the
professionalism
, confidentiality, and quality of the service.
Provide support to volunteers in their handling of callers and texters on the helpline, in their navigation of the helpline platform, and in their development as helpline care officers.
Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to, and helpline volunteers are well-informed of updates when they occur.
Assist in some administrative tasks related to the operational and functional aspects of the helpline, such as the compiling of shift reports, collection of data for analysis, reporting on platform glitch issues, resetting Opscentral functions, rostering of volunteers, and other related matters.
Assist in some aspects of volunteer management such as recruitment, training, maintenance, and community development.
Assist in the management of Pro Bono Counsellors including selection and recruitment, onboarding, organising supervision groups, facilitating peer support groups, and
communication
with the team.
Assist in the management of the Counselling service including client assignment, room bookings, and other administrative tasks.
Assist in the development of other volunteer initiatives and capabilities.
Assist in various tasks and administrative matters of Youthline pertaining to partnerships and collaborations.
Ideal Candidate:
Preferably 2 years of experience in counselling/social service/youth related work.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling.
Have experience in working with teenagers in counselling and/or social work.
Strong
communication
and interpersonal skills.
Excellent team-player who is organized, meticulous and with the ability to multi-task.
