The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for aCorps Mission Associatefor the Orlando Citadel Corps/Area Command, located in Orlando, FL.
Position Type & Pay Range:Exempt Full-Time, $43,022 – $48,388 yearly.
About this opportunity:
Subscribes to, adheres to, and shares the Doctrines, Mission, and Positions of The Salvation Army.
Serves as an evangelist to the community and constituency of the Corps; develops and leads worship services and ministerial programs; provides spiritual guidance andleadershipto the same.
Assists the Corps Officer in planning, coordinating, administrating, monitoring, evaluating, and developing the day-to-day operations of the Corps.
Develops and leads religious programs; participates in social service programs providing assistance to people in need.
Coordinates arrangements for seasonal programs and recruits/supervises volunteers for the same.
Supervises and schedules Corps groups, community outreach programs, and social service work; monitors and maintains adequate financing and budgetary compliance of the Corps operations.
Participates in aiding people in need.
Communicates research findings as well as pertinent information about the local community to the Corps Officer; prepares and provides regular progress reports.
Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates program services based on changing needs of clientele.
Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers for Corps programs.
Sets an example for the Corps by being a Salvationist in Good Standing and participating on a regular basis in Corps programs.
May drive Salvation Army vehicle to transport Corps members to/from Corps programs; operates vehicles in compliance with established policies and procedures.
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field,ORthree years’ experience performing mission work or experience participating in program development for a church or corpsORany equivalent combination ofeducationand experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
This position requires an active, uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing. Approved background check required. Valid State Driver license required.
Knowledge & Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of the mission of The Salvation Army.
Knowledge of Bible and its message in order to teach lessons and lead others to Christ.
Knowledge of social service program development and specifically Christian program development with goal of leading others to Christ.
Knowledge of The Salvation Army’s regulations and organizational structure.
Ability to analyze local community needs in order to make recommendations to the Corps Officer regarding areas to target for corps growth as well as programs and ministries to be developed that match community needs.
