Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and developing volunteer activities related to university and community initiatives. On a day-to-day basis, the coordinator will recruit and onboard volunteers, schedule and monitor volunteer assignments, and provide guidance and resources to ensure volunteers can perform their roles effectively. The coordinator will maintain volunteer records, prepare basic reports on participation and impact, and communicate regularly with volunteers and university staff to align activities with program goals. This role will also collaborate on community outreach efforts, assist in promoting volunteer opportunities, and help improve processes for volunteer engagement and retention.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong volunteer management and volunteer training skills.
- Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
- Candidates should possess experience or interest in community outreach and relationship-building.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks remotely.
- Proficiency with common digital tools (email, spreadsheets, video conferencing) and comfort working online.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate with diverse groups, and maintain confidentiality.
- Previous experience in education, nonprofit, or community programs is an asset.
- Relevant post-secondary education or training in social sciences, education, or a related field is preferred.
