Job Summary

The Community Partnerships and Outreach Development Coordinator is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with community, educational, governmental, nonprofit, and business partners to expand educational access and engagement at the West Valley Center. This role develops and manages community-focused programs, workshops, trainings, and events; coordinates outreach and marketing efforts to increase participation; and collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders to identify and implement new educational opportunities. The position also supports the Community Advisory Council, facilitates strategic partnerships, evaluates community needs, and contributes to the overall success of Community Education initiatives and West Valley Center operations through special projects and other assigned duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Community Partnerships and Outreach Development

Develop collaborative partnerships and connections with internal and external stakeholders, including governmental agencies, K-12 partners, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community organizations. Coordinate with College departments to expand programming and educational offerings at the West Valley Center. Build relationships that strengthen community engagement and educational access.

Community Programming, Events, and Educational Offerings

Develop, coordinate, schedule, and manage workshops, trainings, orientations, community events, and educational programming. Maintain an annual calendar of programming, manage event logistics, address operational issues, and continually evaluate community needs to ensure programming remains relevant and responsive.

Marketing, Communications, and Community Engagement

Market community education offerings, coordinate marketing campaigns with Institutional Marketing, recruit community participants, promote educational opportunities, expand outreach efforts, and maintain networks of educators, trainers, presenters, and community stakeholders to increase participation and awareness.

Advisory Council and Stakeholder Collaboration

Coordinate the Community Advisory Council, seek stakeholder input, collaborate with College departments and community partners, and support strategic planning efforts to identify new programming opportunities and strengthen community relationships.

Other Duties As Assigned

Perform additional duties and special projects in support of Community Education and West Valley Center operations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (120 credit hours completed) plus zero (0) to three (3) of related full-time experience.
  • Associate's degree (60 credit hours completed) plus four (4) years of related full-time experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus eight (8) years of related full-time experience.

Note: Substitution for education and experience are considered on a 2:1 ratio. Part-time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Teams, and ExcelFamiliarity with databases and data entryExperience with community-based collaboration or community organizing Volunteer management and budgeting experience.
