We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. This hands-on role is responsible for financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls while partnering closely with operations to improve profitability and drive informed business decisions. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting experience, advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise, and expertise in inventory management and cost accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.
- Oversee standard costing, inventory adjustments, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, labor costs, material usage, and overhead absorption, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and inventory processes.
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditures.
- Partner with production, purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage QuickBooks Enterprise reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager.
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise is required.
- Deep understanding of:
- Inventory accounting
- Cost accounting
- Standard costing
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Work-in-process (WIP)
- Manufacturing variances
- Inventory controls and physical inventory processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across operations and executive leadership.
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
