Position Summary:
The Contracts Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Contracts Lead in management and administration of contract requirements in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. The Contracts Specialist will coordinate with various internal departments and external suppliers to ensure efficiency, compliance, and resolve emergent issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the Contracts team to execute strategies that ensure efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Supporting the implementation of contract management tools, procedures and forms that support the development of subcontract terms and conditions.
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, vendors, and suppliers.
Assisting to resolve supplier exceptions to terms and conditions, to include negotiation support.
Contributing to the enhancement of contract processes, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
Staying current with industry trends and regulatory changes.
Providing FAR and DFAR interpretation to internal BFA stakeholders.
Ensuring proficiency in contract tools and software, including Microsoft Office.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of FAR and DFARS; including experience with interpretation and application of FAR and DFARS requirements.
Understanding of governmental contracts and the flow-down of applicable requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Ability to analyze, think critically, and determine practical solutions to compliance issues.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of thriving in fast-paced environments.
Education, Certifications, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience related to contract management, administration, and/or negotiation; or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
