Client: Robert Half’s Client – National Legal Advocacy Organization
Robert Half’s client is seeking a Legal Content Editor to support the Education department of a prominent nonprofit legal advocacy organization. This role involves editing, formatting, and managing legal content for seminars, publications, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong background in legal editing, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting justice and civil litigation education.
Key Responsibilities:
Format, proofread, and edit speaker papers for publication with a focus on content, subject matter, length, and copyright compliance.
Coordinate production of educational course materials for seminars and training colleges, including maintaining production schedules and supporting convention materials.
Research and develop content for legal publications, including writing marketing copy and collaborating with authors and publishers to meet deadlines.
Manage reprint requests and content clarifications for national mock trial competitions.
Oversee the upload and organization of course materials on the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) for annual conventions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. and law review experience preferred.
1–3 years of experience in legal writing, civil litigation, or editorial roles.
Proficiency in legal editing, Bluebook citation formatting, and Microsoft Word.
Strong proofreading and formatting skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with sound judgment, strong time management, and organizational skills.
Experience with Westlaw and/or Lexis preferred.
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated interest in legal advocacy and justice initiatives.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
