POSITION TITLE: Construction Superintendent

REPORTS TO: Director of Construction & Project Manager

PURPOSE: The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day field operations on residential, new construction and remodel projects to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project team members while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This role is ideal for a true team player who can coordinate with other departments and works well with a diverse group of people.

This is a full-time position

Ability to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule every week. Overtime when needed but not often required.

DRUG SCREEN, BACKGROUND CHECK and MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT REQUIRED.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight

  • Manage and supervise daily construction activities on assigned projects.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to project plans, specifications, contracts, and applicable building codes.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate project sequencing and workflow to maximize efficiency based off schedules provided by Project Manager and DOC.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to ensure craftsmen like quality and job site safety.

Team and Subcontractor Management

  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Conduct weekly job site safety meetings to include staff and volunteers.
  • Resolve construction issues and conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, construction coordinator and DOC.
  • Verify subcontractor compliance with project requirements and safety regulations.
  • Conduct worksite assessments as needed for home repair projects.

Safety Management

  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations. (OSHA 10 preferred)
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Ensure proper documentation of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety among all workers, volunteers and subcontractors.

Scheduling and Planning

  • Adhere to short-term and long-term construction schedules provided by Project Manager and DOC.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor production rates and site productivity.
  • Anticipate and address project delays or resource constraints.
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteers with multiple departments in the affiliate.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections daily throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review completed work for compliance with plans and specifications to ensure inspection readiness and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate punch list activities and project closeout procedures.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs and progress reports.
  • Document project milestones, issues, delays, and changes.
  • Track material usage, deliveries, and utilization of equipment.
  • Assist with project documentation, permits, inspections, and closeout records.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, or related field experience preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of South Florida Construction supervision experience.
  • Proven ability to lead field teams and subcontractors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of South Florida construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Represent the organization professionally in all interactions, ensuring a positive and respectful experience for volunteers, homeowners and partners.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders, and navigating active construction sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Capability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification or higher.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification not required however nice to have.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent industry certification preferred but not required.

Position is located ON SITE in Lake Worth, FL. NO RELOCATION packages are being offered.
