About Us

Inspire Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, young adults, and families through housing, workforce development, and supportive services. Guided by the principles of Housing First, Positive Youth Development, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care, we provide safe and inclusive spaces where participants gain stability, develop life skills, and build pathways toward independence and long-term success.

Position Overview

The Construction Site Supervisor plays a dual role at Inspire Together—serving as both a construction leader and a youth mentor. This is not a traditional construction supervision position. While overseeing construction and renovation projects, the primary focus is to provide hands-on training, mentorship, and workforce development to youth participants.

The Supervisor ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and up to standard, while creating a structured learning environment that builds participants’ technical skills, confidence, and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day construction and remodeling projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with building codes and specifications.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and properly maintained.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, site walkthroughs, and inspections.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a culture of safety on-site.
  • Supervise and mentor youth participants in construction-related tasks.
  • Provide hands-on training in tool usage, safety procedures, and trade fundamentals.
  • Develop structured training plans to help participants complete skill requirements within program timelines.
  • Provide consistent coaching, motivation, and performance feedback.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and workplace ethics.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, Program Managers, Job Developers, and Intake Specialists to support participant success.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and case conferences.
  • Track participant progress, attendance, and skill development.
  • Complete site safety reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Conduct monthly case file audits to ensure participant records are complete and compliant.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of construction supervision experience (experience working with youth or workforce programs preferred).
  • Licensed Contractor (required).
  • OSHA Construction Safety Certification (required).
  • High School Diploma required; degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for mentoring youth and working in a nonprofit, mission-driven environment.
  • Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check (including criminal history, employment, education verification, and references).
  • Valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

This position is a full-time, on-site role that involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions. It requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work with construction tools and equipment.

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
