Role Description The Compliance Analyst / Risk Analyst is a part-time remote role responsible for supporting the museum’s adherence to regulatory requirements and managing operational and financial risk. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and ethical standards, and conducting risk assessments related to museum operations, collections management, data protection, and financial processes. The role involves reviewing procedures and documentation, supporting internal auditing activities, and preparing clear reports and recommendations for leadership. The analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve controls, support incident response, and contribute to the development of risk and compliance frameworks tailored to a cultural institution.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Regulatory Compliance, including familiarity with cultural, data protection, and financial regulations relevant to nonprofit or museum contexts.
  • Demonstrated Analytical Skills for risk assessment, data review, and evaluation of controls and processes.
  • Clear and professional Communication skills, with the ability to present complex compliance and risk findings to non-specialist audiences.
  • Knowledge of Finance principles and practices, particularly in budgeting, internal controls, or nonprofit financial management.
  • Experience with Auditing activities, such as documenting processes, testing controls, and supporting internal or external audit reviews.
  • Relevant education in law, finance, accounting, risk management, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in art, museums, or cultural institutions; prior experience in the nonprofit or public sector is an advantage.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and proficiency with common office and data analysis software tools.
