Position: Community Outreach Worker Summer Jobs)
Community Outreach Worker (Canada Summer Jobs) Coquitlam, BC Missions Casual May 05, 2026 Hourly: $18.5 – $20
Purpose
This role provides support to the Local Mission team, assisting with program development, volunteer coordination, and system implementation to enhance mission effectiveness and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and day-to-day operations of the Low-Cost Market
- Organize and facilitate volunteer training sessions
- Develop and test a streamlined volunteer sign-up process
- Maintain timely and accurate event updates on Telegram
- Foster a culture of mutuality and participation within the community
- Support and contribute to Dressing Room initiatives and operations
- Attend and actively contribute to monthly mission prayer and team meetings
- Coordinate volunteer requirements and ensure all records are up to date
- Support planning and execution of special events (e.g., Mission Weekend, Dress Sale)
- Engage in community outreach and relationship-building
- Assist with Local Mission Training initiatives over the summer
- Participate in team book study (Toxic Charity) and contribute to discussion
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, Salesforce and related systems
- Ability to coordinate volunteers and lead training sessions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to a participatory, community-driven approach to mission work
Requirements
This role is made possible by a Canadian government grant (Canada Summer Jobs) that funds organizations to employ students in the summertime. The parameters of the job (eligible age, hours and duration, etc.) are set by the grant given to us:
- 35 hours per week
- Must be 15 and 30 years of age, a Canadian citizen and have a valid social insurance number.
- Preferred start date on May 18, but flexible for later start dates
