About the Hispanics of Lake County Association: Hispanics of Lake County Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. The mission of HOLCA is to serve as Lake County’s center for Hispanic community engagement through workforce development, humanitarian outreach, and multicultural awareness.
Position Summary: The Community Outreach Specialist will be a highly motivated and independent 1099 contractor responsible for expanding the membership base of the Hispanics of Lake County Association. This role requires a strong connection to the local Hispanic community, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to engaging potential members. The primary goal is to build relationships and effectively convey the value of joining the Association.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Recruitment: Actively identify, engage, and recruit new members from various segments of the Hispanic community throughout Lake County.
Community Engagement: Represent the Association at community events, local gatherings, and other outreach opportunities to promote membership and build rapport.
Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with individuals, families, community leaders, and local businesses.
Information Dissemination: Clearly articulate the mission, benefits, programs, and opportunities that the Association offers to prospective members.
Feedback Collection: Gather insights and feedback from the community regarding needs and interests to inform Association activities.
Reporting: Provide regular updates on recruitment efforts, progress, and challenges.
Material Distribution: Distribute informational brochures, flyers, and other marketing materials to potential members.
Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish): Fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is essential.
Community Knowledge: Strong familiarity with and established connections within the Hispanic community in Lake County, Florida.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills.
Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative to achieve recruitment goals.
Outreach Experience: Prior experience in community outreach, membership recruitment, sales, or a similar public-facing role is highly preferred.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to attend community events.
Transportation: Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel within Lake County.
