About Community Life

Community Life (CL) is TCB’s place-based model that uses healthy and stable housing as a platform for connecting residents to services, community resources, and opportunities so they can thrive. CL creates programs and builds partnerships to support early education, economic mobility, youth development, community engagement, voting registration, healthy living, and resident leadership.

Position Description

Reporting to the Community Manager, the Community Life Service Coordinator (SC) develops and coordinates support services for residents of Historic South End Apartments in Boston. The SC ensures resident and community success by working closely with property management, building relationships with local and regional partners, planning programs, and working one-on-one with residents to help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with local organizations to implement community engagement initiatives, including the annual CL Questionnaire.

Develop and monitor the Community Success Plan, a strategic plan outlining site priorities and activities to meet CL outcomes by 2025.

Track and report progress to fulfill grant commitments.

Build relationships with residents to understand their goals and connect them with resources.

Conduct new resident orientations.

Create outreach materials and communicate with residents regularly.

Use data systems like CL Dynamics and Power BI to document services and outcomes.

Support residents with housing stabilization issues.

Participate in professional development (minimum 12 hours/year).

Recruit and lead volunteers and interns.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience working with diverse families and issues related to social determinants of health.

Respect for cultural differences and ability to respond appropriately.

Strong relationship-building skills with residents and stakeholders.

Data collection and analysis skills.

Timeliness, professionalism, and excellent customer service.

Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and writing skills.

Knowledge of housing policies (a plus).

Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings.

Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred.

Education

& Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health, or related fields.

At least 2 years of experience working with seniors and/or people with disabilities in housing or human services.

Proficiency in MS Office programs.

Experience engaging with diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups.

Knowledge of property management systems like Yardi, Dynamics, Power BI (a plus).
