Title: Community Justice (L.E.A.D.) Screening and Outreach Coordinator

Location: Burien/SKC

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm

Salary Range: $82,500–$96,500

(The posted salary range represents the full compensation band for the position. New hires are typically placed at the base of the range, plus up to $2,000 total for bilingual skills and/or higher education.)

Responsibilities

  • The Screening & Outreach Coordinator role is part of the REACH team that supports ETS’ mission through acting as the contact point for all referrals to LEAD case management.
  • Ensure effective and efficient communication and collaboration between all partners involved in referring and receiving referrals for LEAD.
  • Provide screening, outreach, and engagement to individuals referred to LEAD; respond to the local police department and manage referrals from law enforcement and city officials.
  • Conduct street outreach as needed to engage referred individuals who have not yet engaged with their assigned case manager.
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with all LEAD partners and other service providers to best serve LEAD participants.
  • This is a full-time field position using office space as needed; days and hours are Mon–Fri, 8:30–5:00.
  • Hold an on-call referral phone after-hours during the work week one week per month and respond to diversion calls as designated.
  • Document all activities as required by agency and contract requirements.

What You Contribute To This Role – Responsibilities

  • Help ETS succeed in transforming systems of harm and inequity to improve community health and safety related to substance use and homelessness.
  • Assist with initiatives to reimagine interconnectedness within the community and address systemic issues.
  • Active point of contact for all referrals to the LEAD team.
  • Manage number of referrals based on capacity.
  • Complete initial screening with all new referrals and assess emergent needs (medical care, shelter, food, clothing) at time of screening.
  • Provide street and home outreach to engage referred individuals and facilitate intake.
  • Complete client intake as needed and coordinate assignment of new referrals to a case manager.
  • Provide case managers with completed paperwork and share relevant information.
  • Track and enter all program referrals in the database, updating demographics, referral date, type, arrest charge, and case manager assignment.
  • Develop relationships with police department, city officials, and other partners; work with case managers to provide street outreach when needed.
  • Provide immediate response to police officers regarding LEAD participants when LEAD case managers are unavailable.
  • Maintain positive relationships with LEAD partners and other service providers including treatment, mental health, healthcare, housing, and landlords.
  • Identify gaps and advocate for changes to improve access to resources.
  • Attend LEAD Program staff meetings and other required meetings.
  • Document all activities per requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Relevant

    Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Undergraduate degree preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for degree.

  • Experience providing street-based outreach and engagement to individuals affected by trauma and marginalization.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with law enforcement and social services providers.
  • Understanding of substance use disorders and harm reduction; demonstrated commitment to serving people experiencing homelessness and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
