About Better Together

Better Together is a regional nonprofit working to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families across Central Oregon through collaboration, community leadership, and culturally responsive approaches. We believe lasting change happens when families and youth have meaningful opportunities to shape the systems that impact their lives. Our work focuses on strengthening community leadership, building partnerships, and supporting culturally specific programs that advance equity and opportunity.

Better Together collaborates with community organizations, public systems, and regional cross-sector partners to strengthen programs, elevate community voice, and ensure families have meaningful opportunities to influence decisions affecting their communities.

Better Together is currently in an important organizational transition as we move toward operating fully as an independent nonprofit organization. While we have a strong history of community partnerships and program impact, we are actively building and strengthening our internal operations, administrative systems, and organizational infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity for staff to help shape and grow an organization during a period of growth, contributing to both programs, partnerships, and the long-term sustainability of the organization. As we continue to grow as an independent organization, we are deepening our investment in early learning and family leadership within Latinx communities.

Organizational Values & Culture

Better Together is committed to building a collaborative, equity-centered organization that works alongside communities to improve outcomes for children, youth and families across Central Oregon with a focus on addressing the systems and structures that create barriers to opportunities.

Our work is guided by the following values:

  • Collaboration & Shared Responsibility: We believe meaningful change requires collective effort. We work in partnership with families, community organizations, schools, and institutions to align efforts and strengthen outcomes for children and families across our region
  • Community Voice & Leadership: We center the leadership and lived experiences of families and youth in shaping programs and systems that impact their lives.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging: Better Together values diverse perspectives and works to create a culture where all people feel a sense of belonging. We recognize that systems create barriers to opportunity and we partner with communities to address those barriers so all youth and families can thrive.
  • Alignment & Collaboration: No single organization can solve complex social challenges alone. We work to align efforts across sectors, strengthen partnerships, and support coordinated approaches that improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Learning and Care: We value continuous learning, collaboration, and a supportive workplace culture that prioritizes the well-being of our staff and community.
  • Care for our Team & Community: We believe sustainable impact requires a healthy and supportive workplace. We strive to build a culture rooted in trust, collaboration, flexibility, and care for the well-being of our staff and community.
