At our school, we support students with diverse abilities, including those with cognitive challenges, physical disabilities, and medical needs. Our Transdisciplinary Model promotes collaboration among teachers and therapists, focusing on communication through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). We celebrate cultural diversity and will be moving to a new building in 2025 with specialized facilities. Join us for the  school year!

Role Overview

The Community Field Coordinator (CFC) will support school-wide programs and community outreach, developing partnerships with community agencies, businesses, and families. Professionalism, responsibility, and respect are essential.

Reports To

Principal/Head of School

Responsibilities

Develop marketing strategies for newsletters and brochures.

Establish partnerships with community and corporate organizations.

Implement community outreach using culturally and linguistically appropriate strategies.

Coordinate cultural events and celebrations.

Promote parent and family involvement.

Support advocacy and community support efforts.

Contact parents/guardians by phone.

Identify speakers and resources for student engagement.

Build corporate partnerships for resources and funding.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

48 college credits or an Associate’s Degree, or pass standardized assessments (Para Pro or Work Keys)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Experience in community partnership development and working with youth

Experience with community organizations, especially those serving migrants and immigrants

Cultural sensitivity and teamwork skills

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree

Computer skills

Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and project reporting

Management experience in urban settings

Experience in urban schools

Fluency in BPS official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali)

Terms

BTU, Paraprofessional Unit, Contractual Hourly Rate. Salary details are on the Boston Public Schools website. School hours vary, with some schools having extended days.
