Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of Community Events Manager. This is a full-time position based out of our Geneva campus. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends for special events. The salary for this position is $58,000. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its functional and environmental requirements.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization providing residential, educational, and therapy services to individuals with serious and profound developmental disabilities and healthcare needs. We operate three residential locations: the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, currently serving nearly 178 residents. Our programs include the Marklund Day School with Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs, and Community Day Services for residents and community members.

The Community Events Manager will help meet revenue and implementation goals for community fundraising events, including acting as Race Director for Marklund’s Run, Walk and Roll 5K/1 Mile events, handling logistics, sponsor ships, and other community events benefit ting Marklund.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborating with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to secure new corporate sponsors

Managing two 5K/1 Mile Race events

Overseeing logistics for community events benefiting Marklund

Managing third-party event applications and policies

Assisting with donor stewardship activities such as thank-a-thons and team cultivation

Performing other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree required

One to three years of non-profit experience required

Experience with walks, runs, and community events preferred

Experience with Raiser’s Edge software is a plus
