Operated by Show Brazil Productions, the Roadhouse is a vibrant community performance space in SeaTac dedicated to live music, cultural experiences, education, workforce development, tourism, and community engagement.

Through concerts, workshops, community gatherings, and special events, the Roadhouse connects artists, residents, cultural workers, visitors, schools, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses while supporting cultural tourism and regional economic development.

About the Opportunity

Show Brazil Productions is seeking an energetic, relationship-oriented Community Engagement Specialist to strengthen connections between the Roadhouse and the communities it serves.

The selected contractor will cultivate relationships with schools, colleges, senior communities, libraries, chambers of commerce, nonprofit organizations, neighborhood associations, arts organizations, businesses, and other community partners throughout South King County.

This is a temporary independent contractor opportunity and is not an employment position.

Position Purpose

The Community Engagement Specialist serves as an ambassador for the Roadhouse by building lasting community relationships that increase awareness, participation, and engagement in Roadhouse programs.

The position focuses on creating meaningful connections that encourage residents, students, families, seniors, educators, and community organizations to participate in the Roadhouse’s cultural programming.

Primary Responsibilities

The contractor will:

Community Outreach

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with schools, colleges, libraries, senior centers, community organizations, neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, cultural organizations, nonprofit agencies, and local businesses.
  • Represent the Roadhouse at community meetings and networking opportunities when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative programming and partnerships.

Community Promotion

  • Distribute approved promotional materials throughout the community.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications Specialist regarding outreach priorities.
  • Promote Roadhouse concerts, workshops, Cultural Workers programs, educational activities, and community events.

Partnership Development

  • Develop new community partnerships.
  • Maintain existing relationships through regular communication.
  • Introduce Roadhouse leadership to potential strategic partners.
  • Identify sponsorship and collaborative opportunities when appropriate.

Community Engagement

  • Encourage attendance from targeted community groups.
  • Identify barriers to participation and recommend solutions.
  • Gather community feedback to improve programming.
  • Represent the Roadhouse professionally throughout South King County.

Documentation

Maintain accurate records including:

  • Organizations visited
  • Contacts established
  • Meetings conducted
  • Promotional materials distributed
  • Community partnerships
  • Opportunities identified
  • Follow-up actions
  • Supporting photographs when appropriate

Program Outcomes

The Community Engagement Specialist is expected to contribute toward:

  • Increased community awareness of the Roadhouse.
  • Increased attendance by residents throughout South King County.
  • Stronger relationships with schools, nonprofit organizations, and community groups.
  • Increased participation in Cultural Workers programs.
  • Expanded educational partnerships.
  • Growth in community referrals.
  • Increased visibility throughout the region.

Leadership will evaluate contributions toward:

Leadership recognizes that attendance is influenced by multiple organizational factors. The Community Engagement Specialist is expected to contribute meaningfully while collaborating with leadership, marketing, hospitality, and programming initiatives.

Schedule

Additional hours require prior written approval.

Compensation

The contractor will receive:

  • $50.00 per hour
  • Up to five (5) approved hours per week
  • Estimated maximum monthly compensation of approximately $1,000

The hourly rate reflects the relationship-building responsibilities of the position, including local travel, meetings, outreach, community visits, promotional-material distribution, and partnership development.

Monthly invoices must include:

  • Dates and hours worked.
  • Organizations visited.
  • Meetings conducted.
  • Outreach activities completed.
  • Partnerships developed.
  • Reports submitted.

Unless otherwise approved in writing, the hourly rate includes ordinary local transportation, mileage, parking, and routine business expenses.

Organizational Records

All outreach records, contact information, partnership documentation, reports, photographs, and related materials developed under this Agreement remain the property of Show Brazil Productions.

Independent Contractor Status

This opportunity is offered exclusively through a Temporary Independent Contractor Agreement.

The selected contractor:

  • Will not be considered an employee of Show Brazil Productions, the Roadhouse, Sound Transit, or the City of SeaTac.
  • Will not receive employee benefits.
  • Is responsible for all applicable taxes and business expenses.
  • Will perform services independently while meeting agreed-upon deliverables and Roadhouse standards.

Contract Term

The Agreement will begin on the mutually agreed start date and expire on December 31, 2026, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the Agreement.

Continuation beyond December 31, 2026, is not guaranteed and will depend upon future operational needs, available funding, and the outcome of future agreements governing Roadhouse operations.
