Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting and strengthening people impacted by cancer through support, compassionate community, and barrier-free care, seeks a compassionate, organized, and collaborative Community Engagement Coordinator.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator helps create a welcoming and responsive experience for people as they first connect with CSCNT. This full-time position coordinates the new-member process, social and educational programming, volunteer engagement, and front-desk services while helping participants access CSCNT’s no-cost programs and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a welcoming, consistent, and timely new-member process for individuals and families seeking CSCNT services.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and current participants, including answering phone inquiries, assisting walk-in visitors, and providing appropriate program information and follow-up.
  • Provide technical assistance, send reminders, monitor completion of required forms, and maintain accurate participant records in CSCNT’s electronic systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and host engaging monthly social events, including event descriptions, calendar updates, logistics, supplies, vendors, and follow-up.
  • Recruit and verify scheduling for healthy lifestyle and other instructor-led programs.
  • Administer monthly in-person and virtual volunteer orientations and recruit, train, schedule, support, and recognize volunteers for programs, host shifts, and special events.
  • Manage volunteer-led programs and assignments, ensuring volunteers have clear expectations, appropriate resources, and ongoing support.
  • Cultivate relationships with instructors, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and other community partners to strengthen programming and referrals.
  • Represent CSCNT at community meetings, networking opportunities, health fairs, and outreach events as assigned.
  • Coordinate front-desk coverage, ensure consistent participant and volunteer sign-in, and help maintain welcoming public spaces at the clubhouse.
  • Purchase approved program and clubhouse supplies in accordance with CSCNT policies and budgets.
  • Participate in weekly program meetings, monthly supervision meetings with the Program Manager, and All-Staff Meetings.
  • Protect participant confidentiality, maintain professional boundaries, and connect individuals with appropriate program or clinical staff when additional support is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of CSCNT’s mission and program goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or community activities and communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Experience recruiting, training, coordinating, or supporting volunteers.
  • Experience in an oncology, behavioral health, healthcare, community-based, or nonprofit setting preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation or database systems.
  • Ability to travel throughout the DFW Metroplex and work one evening a month or weekend in support of programs and events.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
