Title:Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Compton, CA
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 9AM – 6PM
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 (DOE)
Reports to: Manager, Community Engagement
Job Type: Full-Time, On-site
Organization Snapshot:
Nonprofit focused on affordable housing and community revitalization.
Builds stronger neighborhoods and supports low to moderate income families throughout LA County.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute community-based events, workshops, and trainings.
Conduct needs assessments and community research.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Community Affairs, Marketing, and Development teams.
Manage event logistics, outreach plans, and post-event impact.
Monitor budgets and staffing (counselors, volunteers).
Participate in special projects and assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications or related field (preferred)
Experience: 2+ years in a nonprofit environment (preferred)
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Skills and Traits:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Passion for community development and ability to work respectfully with diverse groups
Other Requirements:
Valid CA Driver’s License
Willingness to work evenings/weekends
Consent to background check (credit, criminal, driving, employment, education)
