Katawba Valley Land Trust (KVLT), established in 1992, is an accredited, nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting natural resources, open lands, waters, historic resources, and scenic vistas in the Catawba River Valley and surrounding areas. The trust primarily focuses on Lancaster, Chester, and Kershaw Counties in South Carolina, having protected nearly 14,000 acres through various conservation methods.
Position:
Community Engagement
Specialist (CES)
The CES will be an energetic, innovative, and professional leader passionate about conservation and the environment. Responsibilities include managing the membership program, fundraising, and promoting KVLT through multiple outlets. The role involves utilizing the constituent relationship management system (Little Green Light) for accurate record-keeping, reporting, and member engagement activities. The CES will also represent KVLT at events, outings, and fundraisers, handling publicity to enhance visibility and awareness of our conservation efforts.
Working closely with the Executive Director and the Advancement Committee, the CES will help promote KVLT, identify funding opportunities, grow membership, and support administrative functions to advance our conservation mission.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 2 years of experience in non-profit or sales sectors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Meticulous record-keeping abilities
Proficiency with applications such as CRM databases, MS Office Suite, Outlook, and willingness to learn new technologies
Familiarity with social media and website management for promotional purposes
Creative, strategic, and entrepreneurial thinking
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Flexible schedule for after-hours and weekend events
Experience in planning, prioritizing workloads, and meeting deadlines
Ability to implement an annual fundraising strategic plan
Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds
Valid South Carolina driver’s license
Salary: $45,000, including a work cell phone and full health benefits.
