Job Title:Director of Communications & Marketing

Range: $38,000 to $45,000

Job Summary:

The Director of Communications & Marketing is a key member of the church staff responsible for developing and executing a comprehensivecommunicationstrategy that effectively engages the church community, promotes the church’s mission and vision, and strengthens relationships within the community. This role requires strongcommunication, recruiting, marketing, and organizational skills, with a focus on creativity,innovation, and a deep understanding of the church’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications:

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the church’s mission and vision.

Continually evaluate and amendcommunicationchannels (website, social media, email, etc.) to increase effectiveness and engagement.

Develop and implement marketing campaigns for key church events (Easter, Christmas, special services, fundraising).

Create high-quality written and visual content, including website copy, social media posts, newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials.

Manage the church website, ensuring it isup-to-date, user-friendly, and effectively communicates the church’s message.

Oversee the creation and distribution of church publications (bulletins, newsletters, etc.).

Develop and manage email marketing campaigns.

Community Engagement:

Build and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations.

Promote the church within the community through various channels.

Explore opportunities for community outreach and engagement.

Ministry Support:

Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop and implementcommunicationstrategies for their respective ministries (Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Preschool, Sports & Recreation, etc.).

Provide support and guidance to ministry teams oncommunicationbest practices.

Recruit, train, and mentor a team of volunteers to assist withcommunicationand marketing efforts.

Administrative Assistant Support:

Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and ordering supplies.

Provide occasional support to the front desk, including greeting visitors and answering phones.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree required, a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.

Proficient in multiple software products, including, but not limited to:

Apple/Mac products

Microsoft Office Suite

Pro Presenter

Smart Infinity – digital sign

Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Strongattention to detailand accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Passion for serving the church and its mission.

Bonus Skills:

Experience with video production and editing.

Experience with graphic design for print and digital media.

Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing best practices.

Experience with church management software.
