Program Coordinator Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team, someone who is eager to advance

the behavioral and cognitive sciences, learn about non-profit management, and build

communications skills. This position holds tremendous growth opportunities. The

Communications Coordinator will provide support to all aspects of the organization,

working closely with the executive director, Board of Directors, member societies,

PIBBS journal editors, and individual scientists.

Education required: Bachelor’s degree

Required skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint),

Google Suite, Canva or Adobe InDesign; ability to handle multiple projects and

deadlines; ability to work independently, including self-training and learning software

platforms and systems.

Preferred experience: One – two years in an office environment; some familiarity with

website content management (WordPress or similar CMS a plus) and newsletter editing

experience (iContact or similar program a plus); knowledge of psychological sciences

and/or public policy; non-profit administration.

Key job functions:

Communications

  • Construct and edit biweekly newsletter and Friday Features announcements, with opportunities to contribute articles
  • Manage updates to FABBS website and LinkedIn
  • Provide technical support for virtual webinars
  • Oversee process for disseminating FABBS Early Career Impact Awards,Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Awards, and Student Awards
  • Provide editorial assistance for FABBS journal Policy Insights from the Behavioral and Brain Sciences (PIBBS) through Sage ScholarOne Manuscripts Portal
  • Assist in brainstorming and dissemination for FABBS communication strategy, including the creation of one-pagers, congressional briefing materials, and more.

Non-Profit Management

  • Annual Meeting event planning
  • Participate in Board and Council calls; produce detailed notes
  • Administrative support for FABBS member Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research (ABMR)

This is a full-time position with the opportunity for hybridwork. Compensation is

commensurate with experience. FABBS offers health insurance and retirement benefits.

Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 per year
