Role Overview
The Partnerships Director will lead USA Netball’s commercial development, driving sponsorship revenue, partnerships, and strategic collaborations. Acting as both strategist and dealmaker, this person will shape how USA Netball engages the corporate and community landscape to strengthen its financial sustainability and brand reach.
This is a pro bono leadership position with commission-based earnings available on secured partnerships. Ideal for a seasoned sponsorship or partnerships professional passionate about sports growth and equity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy and Leadership
- Design and execute a national partnership strategy to grow sponsorship, advertising, and corporate investment.
- Analyze market trends to identify strategic partnership categories (sportswear, health, corporate wellness, education, community development).
- Develop annual sales and revenue goals, track KPIs, and manage a partner pipeline consistent with USA Netball’s growth plan.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board to align partnership goals with broader organizational objectives.
2. Partnerships and Revenue Generation
- Identify, pitch, and secure long-term partnerships with brands, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.
- Develop compelling, data-backed partnership proposals and sponsorship decks that demonstrate ROI and brand alignment.
- Lead negotiations and contract finalization, managing all aspects of partnership agreements.
- Build creative activation plans integrating partners into national tournaments, digital platforms, and grassroots programs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of sports marketing, licensing, and brand partnerships to drive innovation and relevance.
3. Relationship and Account Management
- Act as primary liaison for key sponsors to ensure exceptional servicing, timely deliverables, and mutual value.
- Foster renewal, upsell, and multi-year partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with the events, communications, and marketing teams to ensure seamless activation and integration.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews with partners and internal teams to optimize engagement and satisfaction.
4. Governance and Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM and reporting dashboards for partnership prospects, revenue tracking, and performance metrics.
- Provide quarterly commercial updates and forecasts to the CEO and Board.
- Ensure adherence to USA Netball’s values and brand identity.

- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and storytelling skills, especially in aligning partner values with USA Netball’s impact mission.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex partnerships and cross-functional collaboration remotely.
- Strategic thinker with an analytical approach to sales planning and market targeting.
- Passion for women’s sports, equity through sport, and community engagement.
- Self-motivated, professional, and capable of representing USA Netball at the highest level with sponsors and governing bodies.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or business development (sports or nonprofit preferred).
- Proven record of securing and managing significant brand partnerships.
- Familiarity with digital media integration, experiential marketing, and event activation is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or sports management preferred but not required.
Compensation
- Pro bono executive role with eligibility for commission on secured partnerships.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week, variable depending on project stages and events.
- Occasional event attendance, sponsor meetings, and online coordination required.
