JOB SUMMARY

This job description is intended to identify the major duties of the position and is not intended to be exhaustive. The St. Croix Yacht Club (“SCYC”) Facilities and Operations Administrator position is a multi-task position which requires the incumbent to identify what needs to be done and to get that work done.

OVERVIEW

The Board of Directors sets policy and provides operational oversight and management of all aspects of the Club, its facilities, members and committees. The SCYC Facilities and Operations Administrator reports to the Club’s Commodore, the Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Directors. The SCYC Facilities and Operations Administrator (“Club Manager”) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Club and for establishing and maintaining efficient and effective procedures in support of the operations of the Club, its facilities, waterfront, and its subsidiary the St. Croix Yacht Club Sailing Association, Inc. (“SCYCSA”) a 501c3 public charity. The SCYC Facilities and Operations Administrator demonstrates initiative in fostering growth in the membership and their participation in club activities, events and volunteer efforts, and in the overall reputation of the SCYC and the SCYCSA.

DUTIES

The position requires a variety of administrative, maintenance and program management tasks, as well as carrying out important operational duties. The duties include in no particular order of priority:

● Oversee and coordinate the maintenance of the facility, waterfront and fleet.

● Oversee security of the facility and fleet.

● Manage employees including administrative, security, maintenance, and janitorial, including but not limited to evaluating employees and maintaining personnel and human resource files.

● Coordinate and monitor all schedules for services to the Club including but not limited to construction, repairs, ground keeping, water testing, trash removal, pest treatments, fire inspections, health inspections and all inspections by licensing agencies and responsible for monitoring compliance with all governmental agencies.

● Assist volunteers and other staff in coordination of events, regattas, sailing programs and other waterfront programs hosted by SCYC and SCYCSA.

● Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.

● Safely operate small power boats.

● Responsible for administration of program for dock fees and dry dock storage in compliance with Club policies.

● Maintain membership data in compliance with SCYC established procedures and policies.

● Report on operations to the Commodore and the Board of Directors.

● Monitor and interact with applicable electronic communications such as posting on the website, Facebook and Instagram.

● All other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Commodore.

Work Environment

Work is regularly performed in a combination of office, shop and outdoor environments and is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

Physical Demands

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lifting, moving and carrying heavy objects may also be required from time to time.

● Employee is expected to be competent to operate small power vessels.

● Employee is expected to be able to swim.

● Ability to interact positively with supervisor, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.

● Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat co-workers, supervisors and member/guests with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is a full-time salaried position.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
