OVERVIEW
The Club Director is responsible for overseeing the overall day-to-day operations of the Boys & Girls Club of the Minneapolis American Indian Center (BGC of the MAIC), while simultaneouslyleading the teamin refining the new programmatic structure and strategic direction of the Club. The BGC serves youth, ages 5-18, and offers a combination of structured programs and choice time, meal service, youth transports, and a Best Buy Teen Tech Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning& Evaluation
Collaborate with BGC team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate overall Club programs, services, activities, and events; ensuring an optimal Club experience that is aligned with organizational and funding goals, objectives, and outcomes.
Continuing progress towards refining administrative and operational systems.
Implement annual continuous quality improvement process.
Increase the youth impact capacity of the Club by developing and maintaining reciprocal internal and external programmatic partnerships.
Resource Management
Hire, train, supervise and provide performance management for all Club staff.
Provide ongoingprofessional development opportunitiesfor staff, ensuring staff have a working knowledge of the best practices in youth development, trauma informed practice and risk management.
Foster apositive team cultureand ensure adherence to MAIC policies and procedures.
Manage schedules and approve employee timecards for payroll processing.
Plan and facilitate weekly individual and monthly team meetings.
Recruit, onboard, and support program interns and volunteers.
Develop annual budgets, authorize expenditures, and code transactions according to budget.
Safety and Facility Management
Ensure compliance with MAIC and BGCA Native Services’ safety standards.
Ensure Club space and vans are safe, clean and organized.
Communicate all facility and van maintenance and repair needs to Manager of Operations.
Administrative Functions
Complete and submit reports, financial records, and member statistics in a timely manner.
Conduct routine inventory of equipment and supplies.
Attend scheduled MAIC all staff, funder, partnership and other meetings as necessary.
Plan and facilitate weekly individual staff check-in and monthly staff meetings.
Refine and support youth and parent Club orientation process.
Develop and revise Club policies and procedures as needed.
Community Relations
Develop and implement a robust annual Club marketing, recruitment and retention plan.
Build and maintain strong relationships with guardians, community leaders, schools, and other stakeholders.
Raise the visibility of the Club and cross-pollinate with relevant organizations by representing the Club atcommunity eventsand meetings, as well as serving on appropriate committees.
Liaise with guardians and service providers expeditiously to address critical behavioral and safety incidents, as well as any other concerns.
Additional Responsibilities
Occasionally fill frontline staffing gaps, which may require acting as substitute van driver, program facilitator, etc.
Staff special events hosted by the Club, plus any largecommunity eventsco-hosted by all MAIC programs and staff.
Participate inprofessional development opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university (standard across BGCA), or equivalent experience.
