Full-Time | $90,000 per year

Lake County Haven is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and oversight for our programs serving women and children experiencing homelessness. Our focus is on assisting those in early recovery from substance use disorder, mental health issues, and trauma.

The Clinical Lead will help shape clinical practice across the organization, lead the hiring and supervision of program staff, respond to complex client and clinical situations, contribute to policy development, and work closely with the Program Director/Executive Director.

We are looking for someone who combines strong clinical judgment with excellent leadership skills—someone who is compassionate and trauma-informed, but also confident, practical, emotionally steady, and comfortable making difficult decisions.

What You’ll DoProvide Clinical Leadership

· Serve as a primary clinical resource for program staff.

· Provide clinical consultation regarding mental-health concerns, substance-use disorders, relapse, treatment issues, crises, safety concerns, and other complex client situations.

· Assess clinical and safety risks and provide appropriate direction.

· Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, evidence-informed, and harm-reduction practices.

· Help establish and maintain appropriate clinical standards.

· Participate in the development and evaluation of clinical programming and services.

Lead and Develop Staff

· Lead the recruitment and selection of program staff.

· Hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate program staff.

· Provide ongoing supervision, consultation, coaching, and professional development.

· Establish clear expectations and maintain appropriate staff accountability.

· Help staff navigate difficult client situations, professional boundaries, and crises.

· Identify staff training needs and provide or arrange training.

· Promote effective communication and collaboration among program staff.

Help Shape Programs and Policies

· Participate in developing, reviewing, revising, and implementing program policies and procedures.

· Evaluate existing practices and recommend improvements.

· Help leadership address program challenges and develop solutions.

· Help ensure clinical and program practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, funding requirements, professional standards, and Lake County Haven policies.

· Participate in organizational planning and decision-making.

Support Quality Documentation

· Ensure client records and clinical documentation are accurate, complete, timely, and consistent with Lake County Haven policies, funding requirements, and applicable regulations.

· Monitor documentation practices and address deficiencies.

· Provide staff guidance and training regarding documentation requirements.

· Ensure required reports and other clinical or program documentation are completed accurately and on time.

Respond to Crises

· Participate in a rotating 24/7 clinical on-call system.

· Provide clinical consultation and direction to staff during emergencies.

· Assist staff in determining appropriate responses to significant client crises.

· Participate in crisis assessment, intervention, and follow-up as appropriate.

· Maintain sound clinical judgment and decision-making during high-stress situations.

Collaborate with Leadership

· Work closely with the Program Director/Executive Director.

· Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, leadership meetings, and other meetings as assigned.

· Communicate clinical recommendations and concerns clearly and professionally.

· Maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, community partners, and other professionals.

What We’re Looking ForRequired

· Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a closely related field.

· Five or more years of post-graduate clinical experience.

· Demonstrated experience supervising clinical and/or program staff.

· Experience hiring, training, supervising, developing, and evaluating staff.

· Strong clinical judgment and the ability to assess complex situations and respond appropriately to crises.

· Knowledge and experience related to substance-use disorders, recovery, relapse, harm-reduction, and co-occurring mental-health conditions.

· Experience working with trauma and vulnerable populations.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

· Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations and periods of significant stress.

· Valid driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance.

Preferred

· LCPC or LCSW licensure.

· At least three years of supervisory experience.

· Experience overseeing a behavioral-health, residential, supportive-housing, community mental-health, or similar program.

· Experience working in residential treatment, supportive housing, homelessness services, community mental health, or a comparable setting.

· Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures.

· Experience providing clinical supervision or consultation to multidisciplinary staff.

· Experience developing or delivering staff training related to trauma-informed care, substance-use disorders, recovery, crisis response, boundaries, or related topics.
