CHILDREN’S PASTOR 2025

Job Summary

This is the perfect role for someone who is passionate about people and has the leadership and organizational skills to mobilize others to build the church. You’ll mobilize and lead teams to disciple and care for our preschoolers and grade school children. You’ll also be part of our Leadership Team (see Organizational Chart below).

Core Tasks

  • Weekend Gatherings: develop 2 lesson plans, distribute to teachers, prepare needed materials, and organize the classrooms for the weekend; attend team meetings; connect with volunteers and families on weekends; fill in as needed.
  • Mobilize and Train Volunteers: recruit volunteers to staff the preschool and K–5 classrooms every weekend; provide training and ongoing care for those volunteers.
  • Kids Camp / Christmas Musical: ensure these events happen and are effective, through delegation or direct leadership.
  • Administrative duties: volunteer schedules, update student check-in sheets and name tags.
  • Curriculum and Supplies: selecting and purchasing as needed.
  • Budget: establish and oversee the budget for the Children’s Ministry.
  • Leadership Team: membership of the Eastpark Church Leadership Team; attend and participate in the monthly meetings.
  • Staff involvement: attend and participate in church staff meetings and initiatives.

  • Teamwork: work in humble partnership with other leaders and the Lead Pastor.
  • Volunteer Mobilization: recruit and lead church members to serve, identifying, resourcing, empowering, encouraging, and caring for them.
  • Teaching: ability to teach at an appropriate level for children and to train leaders.
  • Personal: self-starter with a strong work ethic, initiative, integrity, highly organized, with good follow-up and follow-through, and an optimistic attitude.
  • Personal Development: grow in leadership and relationship with Jesus.
  • Administrative skills: ability to prepare and oversee a ministry budget.

Terms of Employment

This is a 30 hour part-time position, with flexible and negotiable hours and the potential to increase as the church grows, with an expense account, and reporting to the lead pastor as per the Eastpark Church employee handbook.
